Q: Are fishing licenses
automatically supplied as part of a trip?
A: No. A one-day
non-resident fishing license can be acquired for $11.00
from a variety of local sporting goods stores in the area.
Q: Does lunch come as part
of a fishing trip?
A: Only on trips that
are full-day in duration. We provide a box lunch
complete with sub sandwich (your choice of ham, roast beef
or turkey), fruit, chips and a cookie.
Soft drinks and water are provided on all trips.
Q: Is rain gear available
if we forgot to bring our own?
A: Yes, we have both
rain coats and ponchos for your use during wet weather.
Q: Are waders provided as
part of the trip?
A: No,
but we recommend bringing your own. For trips in early or
late season, neoprene or breathable-style waders are a
must. In mid-summer, wet wading in either wading shoes or
old tennis shoes is perfectly fine.
Q: Does Mangis Guides provide all
equipment and tackle?
A: We do have
equipment for you to use if you do not furnish your own.
We have a selection of flies available and will assist you
in choosing the right type of flies for your trip before
we go. You must
replace whatever you lose or break during the trip.
Q: What kind of equipment
do you offer?
A: Our rods are 5-weight Orvis or Sage. If you would
like to use your
own, we suggest a 4-6 weight rod at 8 or 9 feet in length.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Warmer clothing is
required
during the months of April and May. We suggest
neoprene chest waders or hip boots during this time.
Between mid-June and mid-August the summer sun allows for
shorts and wading shoes. However, please have a
light pull-over available in the morning. In the latter part of
September and October, warmer clothing is once again the
norm most all day. We recommend bringing a
hat, sunscreen and sunglasses all times of the year.
Q: When and where do you
fish?
A: We fish from April
1 through October 31st on a variety of rivers including the Snake, the
Green and New Fork all within Wyoming. Travel
distances to the river sections can vary from 10 to 90
minutes.
Q: What kind of boats are
used in your guiding operation?
A: We run Hyde drift
boats that seat one in front and one in back, with stand up
knee braces for both anglers. Q:
How long are your trips?
A: Full-day trips average
a 10-12 mile float usually taking from 6-8 hours.
Half-day trips average 4 hours. Q: Do you
provide transportation to and from the fishing locations?
A: As a courtesy to
our clients, we pick up and drop
off clients anywhere in the Jackson Hole and Teton Village
area. |
